Daniel B. Thorne, Sr., 67, of Taunton, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Morton Hospital. He was the husband of Betty Ann (Whitaker) Thorne for the past twenty-four years.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Charles and Madeline (Machado) Thorne.
He worked as a developmental service worker at Paul A. Dever School for many years before retiring.
Dan enjoyed a good cup of coffee, or many! He loved watching TV, especially Animal Planet, live police shows, and professional wrestling (WWE, TNA, & AEW)
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Daniel B. Thorne, Jr. (Fiancé, Kristen Erickson) and Michael J. Whitaker (Wife, Brittany) both of Taunton, a brother, Terry Thorne; a sister Carol Benson; grandchildren, Kyle Duane DeMoura, Devin Matteson, Jocelynn Thorne, and Brayden D. Thorne; a great granddaughter, Nevaeh Violet DeMoura; a sister in law, Diana Reynolds; a nephew who was more like a son, Sean Thorne; as well as several other nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Stanley, Dennis, and Bobby Thorne.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, in the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton. Funeral and interment will be privately held.
