David J. Woods, Sr. age 77 of Dighton, passed away at his residence on October 25, 2025 with his loving family by his side.
Born in Cumberland, RI, the son of the late John and Florence Alice (Meehan) Woods.
David was the owner of Woods Tax & Accounting Services, which successfully operated since 1978.
David was a man who truly knew how to enjoy life. He loved nothing more than hitting the open road on his Harley, feeling the freedom of the wind and the rumble of the engine beneath him. When he wasn’t riding, you could find him watching his favorite sports, tapping his foot to the blues, or playing a tune on his harmonica.
David had a gift for storytelling; his laughter and tales could fill a room, and he cherished every moment spent with his family and friends. His spirit, humor and love for life will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
David proudly served his country with the Army during Vietnam.
He is survived by his loving children, Jared Woods, Sr and wife Jody of North Dighton, David Woods, Jr. and wife Michelle of Mansfield and Cirissa Scott and husband Jeremy of Dighton, grandfather of Cassie, Jared, Jr., Sydney, Ashlyn, Ella and Ivy. He also leaves his companion Janice Donovan. Dave was also the brother of the late John, George, Michael and Gertrude Woods.
Mr. Woods’ funeral will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 9am with a service to begin at 10am in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.
Interment with military honors will follow in Dighton Veteran Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 29 th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
