Debra M. Brasil, 49, of Taunton, passed away on Friday, December 6th, 2019 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of Ilidio and Maria (Bulcao) Silva of Taunton.
She attended Taunton schools, and was a home health aide who took care of the elderly and disabled throughout her career. It brought her great joy seeing the many smiles she would bring to her patients’ faces when she would dance and sing with them. She especially loved attending Portuguese festivals, dining out at restaurants, and expressing her true self through music. Above all else, her one true passion was spending time with whom she called “my babies”, her three children, and her newest love, her two-year old granddaughter. She will be best remembered for her beautiful singing voice, extreme positivity, bubbly personality, infectious laughter, and always going out of her way to be the sunshine in everyone’s day.
Debra leaves her children; Casey L. Brasil, Vanessa L. Brasil, and Brandon L. Brasil, and granddaughter Ariel Samantha Dabreu, all of Taunton. She also leaves her siblings; Lee Silva and wife Michelle, David Silva and wife Lynsey, their children Mikayla, Ariana, and Mason, and several more nieces and nephews.
Debra’s funeral with visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral home 80 Broadway (Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, in St. Nicholas of Myra Church, Spring St. in North Dighton.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
