Diane (Neto) Carnes, 78, of Taunton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026.

Born and raised in Taunton, Massachusetts, Diane was the loving daughter to her late parents Arthur and Alice (Correia) Neto.

Diane lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family. She touched countless lives through her warm heart, gentle spirit, and genuine care for others.

For many years, Diane worked as an Office Manager at the Thayer Building in Taunton, where she was known for treating every patient as if they were a member of her own family. Her compassion and dedication left a lasting impression on those she cared for and worked alongside.

Diane was a devoted parishioner of Holy Family Church.

Diane's greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 24 years, Joseph Carnes; her sister, Linda Upson; her children, Michele Handley, David Handley, and Jenna (Handley) Aylward and her husband, Peter; and her cherished granddaughters, Gianna Handley and Alahna Handley, to whom she was a loving and devoted Nana. She was also Stepmom to Stacy Carnes and Joseph Carnes III. She also leaves behind many beloved cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

Among Diane’s greatest joys was being a Nana to Gianna and Alahna. She treasured every moment she spent with them. She was immensely proud of her granddaughters. Some of her happiest times were the simple moments—picking them up from school, listening to their stories about their day, hearing their laughter and giggles from the back seat, and sharing in their excitement about school and life. Those rides home filled her heart with immeasurable joy and created memories that will be treasured forever.

She also enjoyed taking long car rides with Joe and her dog Lucy appreciating the simple pleasure of being together and enjoying each other's company. Whether spending time with family, helping others, or sharing a quiet moment with those she loved, Diane found happiness in life's everyday blessings.

Diane will be remembered as a kind, loving, and selfless woman whose presence brought comfort and happiness to everyone around her. Her love, warmth, and gentle nature will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 4 to 7pm with a service to begin at 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway ( at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.
