Dorothea (Rose) Souza, age 82 of North Dighton, passed away on January 7, 2018 at Marian Manor.
She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Souza, Jr.
Dorothea was born in Taunton, a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Farias) Rose.
Mrs. Souza enjoyed playing bingo, crossword puzzles and watching game shows. Most of all had a great love for her family especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Souza is survived by her loving children, Cynthia A. Souza of North Dighton, Cheryl M. Rodier of Taunton and Carol F. Stafford of North Dighton. She was the grandmother of Kate and Laura Stafford and her husband Brett Blank and Ryan Souza, and sister of Eugenia Rego of Taunton. Dorothea was also the sister of the late William and Richard Rose, Lillian Lawrence and the late Mary Phillinger.
Dorothea’s funeral will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 9:15 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) in Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in Saint Nicholas of Myra Church Spring Street, North Dighton. Interment will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 10th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the north side of the funeral home.)
