TAUNTON - Dorothy T.(Prairie) Costa, 83, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on July 30, 2010 following a short illness.
Born in Berkley, she was the daughter of the late Alfred A. and Mary (Remet) Prairie.
Raised and educated in the area, Mrs. Costa was employed as a stitcher for the former Whittenton Garment Co. for thirty years, retiring twenty-one years ago.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
Mrs. Costa was an avid Red Sox fan, and enjoyed Bingo and playing cards.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-three years, Antonio A. Costa of Taunton; a son, Barry Costa and his wife Antonietta of Taunton; a daughter, Gail Corrao and her husband Kenneth of Taunton; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Fred Prairie, George Prairie and Irene Benoit.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Tuesday, Aug. 3rd at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
