Dorothy S. McClarren, 85, of North Port, FL, formerly of Taunton, MA living a brief time in Raynham, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, November 15, 2019 at the Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte, FL. She was the beloved wife of William A. “Bill” McClarren. They had celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in September 2019.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Valentina (Vincent) Fostin.
Dorothy was a graduate of Taunton High School, Class of 1952 She worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 32 years, starting at the Paul A. Dever School, followed by the Department of Social Services in Taunton
Dorothy enjoyed flowers, dancing and crocheting and most of all loved the beach.
Besides her husband Bill, she leaves her loving sons and their spouses, William C. McClarren (Doreen) of Falmouth, MA, Robert J. McClarren (Debra) of Westport, MA, Steven M. McClarren (Karen) of North Port, FL, and Scott A. McClarren (Lisa) of South Dartmouth, MA; her grandchildren, Stacey of Falmouth, MA, David and Erin, of North Port, FL and Madison of Westport, MA; great grandchildren,Benjamin, Braxton, and Luke, all of North Port, FL; a goddaughter, Dr. Sherri Lyn Almeida, of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews spread across the United States. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher M. McClarren and her sister Natalie Fostin (Almeida) Moitoza.
At the request of Dorothy’s family, funeral services will be held at a future date.
