Edmund Silveira, age 91 of Taunton, passed away on January 11, 2026 at Beth Isreal Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of the late Jeanne (Bouchard) Silveira.
Born in Taunton, the son of the late Antone and Palmira (Cordeiro) Silveira.
Mr. Silveira served his country with the Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1952-56. He attended RI Radio and Electronic School graduating in 1961.
Before retiring, Mr. Silveira was employed with TMLP as a general line foreman retiring after 32 ½ years. Edmund also served on the Board of Directors for Coachmen Caravan of Middlebury, Indiana from 1974-1998.
After retiring from TMLP he traveled throughout all 52 states and Mexico, Canda, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Europe.
Edmund is survived by his loving children, Dianne Jeanne Saxon and husband George of The Woodlands, TX, Suzanne Marie Diminico and husband Paul of Taunton MA, brother of Ramona Lynch of Taunton. He is also survived by his daughter in law Lori Caron Silveira of Rehoboth and was the grandfather of Christopher, Jennifer, Ted, Brianna, Marissa, Giovanna, Vanessa and Drew, great-grandfather of Faith, Abagail, Savanna, Connor, Luke, Saylor, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mr. Silveira was also the father of the late Randall P. Silveira, uncle of the late Jason Lynch and brother of the late Mary Patenaude and Anthony Silveira.
Edmund’s funeral will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Jude the Apostle Church.
Interment with military honors will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 15th, from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
