TAUNTON - Edward L. Dias, a lifelong Taunton resident, died at Morton Hospital & Medical center on Sept. 25, 2011.
He was 86.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Ellen (Duarte) Dias.
A baker by trade, Mr. Dias was employed by the former Broadway Bakery for many years.
He retired several years ago.
Known for his ability to imitate bird calls, Mr. Dias was an avid Red Sox fan, and enjoyed swimming, diving and photography.
Survivors include his twin sister, Edna, and her husband Gerald Mitton of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late John, Joseph, Frank and Charlie Dias; and the late Mary Enos, Helen Goulart, Emma Dias, and Evelyn Roberts.
Funeral arrangements are private, and at the convenience of the family.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
