Edward Anthony Dupont, Retired Master Sergeant, United States Army National Guard, age 86 of Raynham, and formerly of Taunton, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2018 at Life Care of Raynham with his loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Joan Roberta (Paling) Dupont.

Edward was born in Berkley, MA, son of the late John and Emily (Silva) Dupont.

Before retiring in 1992, Edward was employed by the U.S. Army as a Supply Technician in the Quartermaster Corps, Logistics NCO, First Sergeant, and Senior Logistics Noncommissioned Officer culminating over 42 years of faithful service to our nation.  He proudly served our great Country during the Korean War, Vietnam, and Desert Storm earning numerous Awards and Decorations such as the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, The Honorable Order of Saint Barbara, and numerous other awards. Edward enjoyed carpentry, reading and traveling, but most of all cherished time spent with his family.

Besides his beloved wife Joan of over 67 years, he is survived by his loving children; Deborah J. Bedard of Attleboro, Sergeant Major Daniel E. Dupont Sr. US Army (Ret) and wife Karen of Taunton, and Robin A. Biedak and husband John of Taunton.  He was the grandfather of 8, great-grandfather of 9, and had several nieces and nephews.   He is also survived by his brother, Richard Dupont of Acushnet, MA, sister, Mary Joaquin of Taunton, and was the brother of the late John Dupont, Everett Dupont,  and Daniel Dupont.

Master Sergeant Dupont’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at The Annunciation of the Lord Church, First St in Taunton. Interment with military honors will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 29th from 4 to 7 pm at the Silva Funeral Home.

(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the north side of the funeral home.)
