Edward R. Gallego, age 95 of Taunton, passed away on September 6, 2021 at Morton Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Cardoza) Gallego.
Edward was born in Taunton, the son of the late Manuel and Elmena (Cambra) Gallego.
Before retiring, Mr. Gallego was the owner and operator of the former Modern Construction.
Edward served his country with the US Navy during WWII. He enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling, but most of all Edward cherished time spent with his family. He was also a life member of the PACC.
He is survived by his loving children; Rick Gallego, Edward Gallego and Beverly Gallego all of Taunton, grandfather of Richard, Marissa, Julia-May, Amy, Jennifer and Leonard, great-grandfather of William, Delaney, Victoria and Asher. He was the father of the late Leonard Gallego and brother of the late Francis and Anthony Gallego.
Edward’s funeral will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 7:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton. Interment will follow with military honors in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 12th from 2 to 5pm in the Silva Funeral Home . Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.
