Edward J. Garrido, 97, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 20, 2020 surrounded by his family at his son’s residence in Falmouth. He was the husband of 64 years to the late Francelina (Medeiros) Garrido, who passed away in 2012.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Antonio and Maria (Vieira) Garrido.
Ed worked as a flatware silversmith at Reed & Barton in Taunton for forty one years before retiring at 62 years old.
He loved to travel with his wife and traveled to many places, including South America, Brazil, Mexico, Europe, Portugal, the Azores and have been on 25 cruises together. Mr. Garrido loved working in his yard gardening. He was a communicant of Saint Anthony’s Church where he was a charter member of the Holy Spirit Society. He also enjoyed watching television, especially the soap operas with his lovely wife. Ed was one of the most dedicated Boston Red Sox fans.
Mr. Garrido leaves his two sons, Frank Anthony Garrido, of Taunton and Falmouth, and Paul Edward Garrido, of Parrish, FL; a brother Alipio Garrido, of Orlando, FL and Angelina Medeiros, of Taunton; a granddaughter; two great grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews.
According to his family’s wishes, all funeral services and interment in Saint Joseph Cemetery will be privately held.
