Edwin Montijo, age 71 of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 in Emory Hospital.
Mr. Montijo was born December 19, 1949 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Ramon and Providencia (Rivera) Montijo .
He was retired from Techen Inc. where he worked in Research and Development for a number of years. Edwin enjoyed electronics, gardening and playing the guitar. He was a craftsman making trinkets and working with wood. He was Catholic and had been very active in St. Mary’s Church in Taunton, Massachusetts before moving to Georgia about 6 years ago. Edwin was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of fifty three years, Maureen Montijo; children, Angela Lescault, Villa Rica, Diana Montijo Beauvais (Robert)Bristol, RI; grandchildren, Zachary Lescault(Victoria), Alexandria Beauvais and fiancé, (Michael Santopadre) Dakota Beauvais(Ashley Hammond); great grandchildren, Addyson Lescault, Nova-Leigh Beauvais; siblings, Ramon Montijo, Jr., New England, Jorge Montijo, New York, Al Montijo, New England, Mirna Torres, New England, Jason Montijo, New England, Eufamia Belford, Georgia, Providencia DeJesus, New England, and Marta Lopez, New England and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 4 to7pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary's Square) Taunton. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 4th at 12 Noon in Saint Mary's Church Broadway in Taunton. His burial will be held privately.
Relatives and friends may meet directly at church for 11:45am.
