Eleanor (Linhares) McGreevy, age 76 of Taunton, passed away on February 12, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side. Eleanor was born in Taunton, daughter of the late Jesse and Mary (Correia) Linhares. Before retirement, Eleanor was an Office Manager with the Taunton District Court for many years. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was the loving mother of Richard McGreevy, Michael McGreevy and Susan Gwozdz, all of Taunton and Joseph McGreevy of Lakeville. Eleanor was the sister of Stephen Linhares, Jeanne Linhares, Elizabeth Newman all of Taunton, Edward Linhares of Pocasset, Joseph Linhares of Mashpee, Thomas Linhares of Fairhaven and Fr. William Linhares of PA. She was the grandmother of 7 and also leaves many nieces and nephews. Mrs. McGreevy was also the sister of the late Jesse and Robert Linhares, and the late Mary Hartung. Eleanor’s funeral will be concelebrated on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 8:30 am from The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway(at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Mary’s Church, Broadway in Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 16th from 4 to 7pm.
