TAUNTON - Elizabeth A. (Ventura) Phillips, wife of the late Robert J. Phillips, died at her North Dighton home on Jan. 19, 2011.
She was 83.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Conceicao (Ventura) Ventura.
Raised and educated in Taunton, she was a 1945 graduate of Taunton High School.
Mrs. Phillips moved to North Dighton many years ago and was a communicant of St. Nicholas of Myra Church.
A retired administrator for the Taunton Planning Board, she enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing and playing cards.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce M. Graham and her husband James of N. Dighton and Jane E. McCormack and her husband John of Stoughton; four grandchildren, Robert P. Stubbs of Nashville, TN, Joseph J. Graham of Woonsocket, RI, Sarah E. Graham of Dighton and Jenna McCormack of Stoughton; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Judith S. Phillips and the sister of the late Caesar Ventura.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, Jan. 22nd at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Nicholas of Myra Church, N. Dighton at 12 noon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 21st from 5 to 7 p.m.
Burial will be private at the MA National VA Cemetery in Bourne.
