Elsie (Mendoza) Leanues

Elsie M. (Mendoza) Leanues, age 86, of 539 Middleboro Avenue, East Taunton, passed away on December 12, 2017 at Good Samaritan hospital in Brockton after a lengthy illness.  She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Leanues for 59 years.  Elsie was born in Raynham, a daughter of the late John F. and Marie (Lawrence Homen) Mendoza.

Elsie worked at Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 30 years. She enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband Donald in their younger days, the summer cottage on the Cape, playing the organ and their home of 20 years in Port Charlotte Florida. She loved cooking for the annual Holy Ghost Hall Portuguese fiesta family get togethers and she adored her little tea cup Chihuahua Zoey.  Elsie leaves two daughters, Judy Goulart of East Taunton and Kendra Leanues of Taunton.

Five grandchildren, Adam Goulart of Concord NH, Hilary Goulart of Pembroke NH, Jesse Leanues of Port Charlotte FL, Sara Jones of Taunton and Shaun Leanues of Taunton.

Four great grandchildren, Ashiyah and Ava Jones of Taunton and Jayce and Ariannah Leanues of Taunton.

She was also the mother of the late Donald W. Leanues of Taunton and the sister of the late Frank, John, Joseph and Manuel Mendoza and Alice Reposa, Mary White, Palmeda Ziomek and Esther Giovanoni and several nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will be held privately.
