Emanuel L. Resendes

Emanuel L. Resendes, age 56 of Taunton, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Beth Israel Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born on December 24, 1965 in Faial Da Terra, St. Michael, Azores he was the son of Maria L. (Moniz) and the late Manuel M. Resendes.  He immigrated to the United States with his parents on February 24, 1967 and later became a proud US Citizen.

Manny graduated from Bristol Plymouth Regional High School’s Automotive Repair program in 1984.  Manny worked for Taunton Tire, Sullivan Tire and eventually opened his own auto repair shop, Resendes Family Automotive. From a young age, Manny always had a passion for cars. He was a car enthusiast and  enjoyed going to car shows. He enjoyed a good conversation and spending time with his friends and family. Most recently while in the hospital he discovered he enjoyed watching old Westerns and recalled memories of his Dad watching them. Manny also had a fondness for animals, especially dogs.  His late dog Maddie was his copilot and was missed dearly.

Besides his beloved mother Maria, he is survived by his sister Lucy Bubier and her husband Gary. He was the proud uncle and Godfather of Joseph Bubier and Megan Bubier.  He also leaves behind his four-legged friend, Pugsley.

Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means “I’ll miss you” until we meet again.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 2 to 4pm in Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.

Burial will be held privately.
