TAUNTON - Emilia F. (Catano) Medeiros of Taunton, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on March 25, 2012.
She was 80.
Born, raised and educated in St. Jorge, Azores she was the daughter of the late Jose & Maria (Rapos) Catano.
She moved to the U.S. in 1968 and settled in Lowell, where she resided until moving to Taunton in 1976.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, Mrs. Medeiros was a member of the Holy Ghost Society in the Azores, Lowell and Taunton.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, she enjoyed knitting, and loved time spent with her great grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Ramiro R. Aguiar and his wife Rita of Taunton; two brothers, Esquel Aguiar and his wife Lorraine of Lowell, and Antonio Aguiar of Taunton; a granddaughter, Jennifer Aguiar of Taunton; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Mariah Suarez, both of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Eduardo Aguiar.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Friday March 30th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at Mayflower Hill Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday March 29th from 5 to 8 p.m.
