Evangeline C. (Reis) Costa

TAUNTON - Evangeline C. (Reis) Costa, wife of the late Joseph S. Costa, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on May 24, 2010.
She was 61.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Maria (Camara) Reis.
She moved to the U.S. in 1969 and made Taunton her home.
She was employed as a seamstress by the former Rennie Curtain Factory, Taunton Dress Company and Whittenton Garment for several years, retiring in 1986.
A communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church, and member of Lady of All Nations Church, Mrs. Costa was a devoted mother and grandmother, and a lifetime caregiver to her son, Christopher who suffers from autism.
She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and going for drives.
Besides Christopher, she leaves her son, Joseph S. Costa Jr. and his wife Denisa of Taunton; a daughter, Andrea E. Costa and husband Romando D. Ray of Taunton; three brothers, Antonio, Adelino, and Andrew Reis, all of Taunton; two sisters, Gloria R. Silva of Raynham and Rosa C. Teixeira of E. Taunton; two grandchildren, Xavier V. Andrade and Daequan J. Ray, both of Taunton; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Thursday, May 27th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday May 26th from 5 to 8 p.m.
