TAUNTON - Evaristo L. Pimental, husband of the late Normenia (Costa) Pimental, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Feb. 6, 2011.
He was 79.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Agostinho and Maria (Lima) Pimental.
Mr. Pimental was employed by Bab's Foundry in Norton for over twenty-eight years before retiring in 2006, and was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
He enjoyed music and singing, and was a gifted storyteller and jokester.
He also loved spending time in his garden and making wine from his homegrown grapes.
He leaves four sons, Jose Pimental and his wife Maria, and Agostinho Pimental and his wife Connie, all of Taunton, Dinarte Pimental and his wife Cecilia of Falmouth, and Carlos Pimental and his wife Susana of Stoughton; a daughter, Maria Goncalo and her husband Jose of Taunton; a brother, Jaime Pimental of Warren, RI; a sister, Maria Medeiros of Taunton; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Thursday, Feb. 10th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 9th from 5 to 8 p.m.
