Evelyn Mae Rodgers, age 103 of Raynham, passed away on May 16, 2018 at home with her loving family by her side.
Evelyn was born in Taunton on April 11, 1915, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Coelho) Rodgers.
Before retirement, Miss Rodgers worked at Ad-A-Day Co for many years, She was also a proofreader for the Taunton Daily Gazette. Evelyn was also an art teacher who taught tole painting. She was a member of the National Tole Painting Society for many years.
Evelyn was a kind and loving person who cherished time spent with her family. She was the kind of aunt that everyone wished they had. Her love of instilling education and an appreciation for the arts to all children made her a magnet for any children who encountered her. She will be missed by several nieces and nephews.
Miss Rodgers was the sister of the late Genevieve Goodwin, Joseph, William and George Rodgers.
Miss Rodgers’ funeral service will be held on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 9 am in the chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home on Sunday, from 2 to 5 pm.
