Fernanda Vieira

Fernanda (Santos) Vieira, age 65 of Taunton, passed away on November 14, 2021 at Morton Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of Manuel Vieira.

Fernanda was born in Portugal, the daughter of Beatriz (Fernandes) Santos and the late Leonel Santos. Fernanda moved to the United States with her family when she was 4 years old and made her life in Taunton.

Fernanda was employed with Liberty Bakery Kitchen in Brockton as an accountant. Before that, she worked at Dunkin Donuts also as an accountant for several years and prior to that at Renie Curtain Factory in Taunton where she met her future husband, Manuel.

Fernanda enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. Fernanda was easygoing and always had a smile on her face. She was always ready to travel with her family and friends and especially enjoyed all the fun trips to Mexico, Italy and Portugal.

Fernanda was very creative and meticulous in everything she made. She especially enjoyed crocheting, gardening, home decorating, and sewing. She made most sweaters she wore and in fact, she made her own wedding gown and a suit for her husband to wear on their honeymoon. She also enjoyed playing Sudoku puzzles. Fernanda always had a puzzle book with her and a crocheting project underway, even when sitting by the pool in Mexico.

Fernanda loved life and all those around her and was loved by all who knew her. Fernanda fought the cancer battle to the end like a true warrior and tried every treatment her doctors recommended. She had so much to live for, especially watching her grandchildren grow up.

Besides her beloved husband Manuel of over 38 years and her Mother Beatriz, she is survived by her loving sons; Daryl Vieira and his wife Lynn and Daniel Vieira both of Taunton, and grandchildren Leanna and Landon. She was also the sister of Antonio Santos of Raynham and Maria Lourdes Silva of Portugal.

Fernanda’s funeral will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Annunciation of the Lord Church in Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held in the Silva Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 17th from 4 to 7pm.
