Filomena Chaves Bairos

TAUNTON - Filomena Chaves Bairos, wife of the late Manuel Bairos, died at her home on Sunday, Nov. 30th at the age of 93.
Born on the island of Santa Maria, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel J. and Jacinta (Pereira) Chaves.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, she moved to the area in 1957.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, she enjoyed watching television and was especially fond of spending time with her grandchildren.
She leaves 2 daughters, Maria B. Freitas and her husband Jose and Adelaide Chaves and her husband Dinis; a sister, Rosa Bettencourt and her husband John, all of Taunton; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late John, Joseph and Mary Chaves.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Thursday, Dec. 4th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, from 5 to 8 p.m.
