Filomeno C. Pereira

Filomeno C. Pereira, 70, of Taunton, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Morton Hospital. He was the husband of Maria D. (Tavares) Pereira. They were married for 45 years.

Born in Faial da Terra, Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio V. Pereira and Maria (Filipe) Couto.

He worked in the manufacturing industry for over 40 years prior to retirement.

Mr. Pereira served in the Portuguese Army. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and most of all loved spending time with his family.

Besides his wife Maria, he leaves his son Rui Pereira, of New Bedford; three sisters, Maria Raposo, Lucilia Soares, and Maria  Conceição Medeiros; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Antonio, Pedro, Francisco, Afonso Pereira.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, in the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton (at Saint Mary’s Square)

Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, at Saint Anthony Church, School Street, Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.

During all services, facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
