Francelina (Baptista) Fidalga, age 89, of Taunton, MA passed away on March 26, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Fidalga who passed in 2014.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Adriao Pina and Ermelinda Baptista. Raised and educated in Cape Verde, she moved to Taunton in 1979 and has been a resident ever since. She worked at Rennie Curtain Co. in Taunton until her retirement.
She attended Ambassadors Church in Pawtucket, RI and was a great woman of God. Even through her battle with dementia she never forgot her Lord and savior.
Her favorite hobby was crocheting for her family and friendsand she spent so much of her additional time reading books and her bible.
Francelina is survived by her five loving children, NiceiaDuarte of Pawtucket, RI; Jorge Silva and his wife Maria of Taunton, MA; Benvinda Teixeira of Taunton, MA; Ermelinda Fidalga of Franklin, MA and Aduzinda Rodrigues of East Providence, RI; two sisters, Carlotta Silva and Alcinda Pina, both of Pawtucket, RI; her brother Daniel Pina and his wife Elizabete of Taunton, MA; fourteen grandchildren including the late Paula Duarte who passed in 2019; sixteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Euclides Baptista of Taunton, MA; Ricardo Ramos and Edelmira Gonsalves both of Pawtucket, RI.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 10 am with a funeral service to begin at 11am in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton.
Interment will follow in Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 1st from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
