Francis G. Spataro

TAUNTON - Francis G. Spataro, husband for fifty-nine years of Elizabeth (DeCosta) Spataro, died at Taunton Nursing Home on Feb. 22, 2013.
He was 82.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Louis and Anna (Baumgaertner) Spataro, he was a 1948 graduate of St. Ann's Academy.
A U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was later employed by Consolidated Edison, Inc. as a draftsman where he worked for many years.
He retired several years ago.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, Mr. Spataro was member of the Catholic War Veterans of New York and the Golden Agers.
In addition to his wife of Taunton, he leaves four sons, Stephen Spataro of Levinworth, KS, Robert Spataro of New York, NY, James Spataro of Middle Village, NY and John Spataro of Broad Channel, NY; five daughters, Louise Spataro of Spotsylvania, VA, Patricia Tate of Hayes, VA, Celeste Scott of Southern Pines, NC, Carol Freddo of Dallas, TX and Denise Kurian of Marquette, MI; his sister-in-law, Margaret Remillard of Taunton; seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Marie Williams.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, Feb. 28th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
