Francisco P. Felix, age 85 of Taunton, passed away on February 10, 2021 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Maria Sousa (deMelo) Felix.
Francisco was born in Santa Maria, Azores, the son of the late José de Chaves Felix and Maria de Sousa Pereira. Francisco was a veteran of the Portuguese Army. He immigrated to the United States in 1968 with his wife and children.
Before retiring, Francisco was employed with George O.Jenkins and Shawmut Mills.
In addition to spending time with his loving family, Francisco enjoyed fishing, gardening, and making wine. After retirement, Francisco enjoyed spending his summers on his adored island of Santa Maria where he was known by all as “Francisco da Ladeira”.
Besides his beloved wife Maria, he is survived by his loving children; Joe and wife Carmen, Rosa Chaves and husband José, Helen DeLisle and husband Jack, Laurinda Camara and husband Peter, Tony and wife Janine, John and companion Theresa Matos, Michael and wife Priscila, and the late Louis Felix. He was the grandfather of Timothy, Kimberly, Amy, Jason, Melanie, Megan, Joshua, Kaitlynn, Cassaundra, Matthew, Alyssa, Carissa, Jarred, Kayla, Alicia, Nicholas, Tyler, Marcus, and his newest pride and joy, 1 year old Thomas. He was the great-grandfather of 15. He is also survived by his sister Filomena Cabral and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Maria, Antonio, Emilia, Gloria, José, Joao, Manuel, Agostinho, Angelo, Luis, Adelina, and Angelina.
Francisco’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 8:30am from The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Anthony Church School St, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 15th from 4 to 7 pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.)
