Frank E. Rezendes, Jr., age 91, of Taunton, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Marian Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Taunton. He was the devoted husband to the late Marilda (Mulcahy) Rezendes.
Born in Somerset, he was one of two children and the only son born to the late Frank E. Rezendes, Sr., and Janet M. (Davis) Rezendes.
A patriotic man, Frank proudly served his nation during the Korean War conflict with the United States Army. He achieved the rank of Corporal and upon his honorable discharge was awarded the Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
For many years, Frank worked as an Engineer for the Town of Somerset Sanitation Department.
In his spare time, Frank enjoyed spending time at the ocean. Whether it was fishing in Newport, clamming, or quahogging, he was happy around the water. Frank also enjoyed reading and documentaries, especially books or programs about history, gardening, and religions of the world, due to his inquisitive nature. Above all, Frank was extremely proud of being a father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Frank is survived by his daughter: Linda (Rezendes) Modiste; his granddaughter: Rebecca and her husband Edward IV; and his great-grandchildren: Mia and Edward V.
Private Services with US Army Honors will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
