TAUNTON - Franklin D. "Doug" Carreiro, 59, died unexpectedly at his Taunton home on Aug. 21, 2010.
He was the father of Amber L. Carreiro-Forbes of Taunton.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of Emma M. (Costa) Alphonse of Fairhaven and the late John T. Carreiro.
Raised and educated in Taunton, he graduated from Taunton High School in 1969.
Mr. Carreiro worked for many years as a valet for several Taunton and Boston area restaurants.
He retired several years ago due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
A billiards enthusiast, he enjoyed playing competitively, and was a member of the I Don't Knows, the Renegades, and the AccuCuts tournament teams.
He was also an avid Harley Davison enthusiast.
Besides his mother and daughter, he leaves two brothers, Jack Carreiro of NH and Michael Carreiro of Fairhaven; four sisters, Mary Bourque of Berkley, Michelle Skanks of New Bedford, Joanne McClellan of Dighton, and Tina Glover of Venice, FL; many nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.
He was also the brother of the late James Carreiro.
Memorial Services will be held at the Myricks United Methodist Church, 93 Myricks St. Berkley on Sunday, Aug. 29th at 3 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
