Franklin D. Longo, age 85, passed away suddenly on December 23, 2017 at his residence.

He was the beloved husband of Norma P. (Brune) Longo, his high school sweetheart. They would have celebrated 65 years of marriage in January.

Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Alfonso and Giuseppina (Liberatore) Longo.

He was a graduate of Taunton High School.

He was a proud 20 year veteran of the United States Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant.  During his service, he received one of the Air Force's highest honors, an Air Force Commendation Medal for exceptional meritorious service.

Upon retirement from the Air Force, he worked with his brother, William, at Longo's Appliance and graduated from Fisher Junior College with an Associate's Degree in Business Administration.

He subsequently worked at Goddard Medical for almost 20 years as a Medical Records supervisor.

He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, loved growing his vegetables in the back yard, and was an amazing cook.  He was a passionate reader, and passed this wonderful trait on to his children and grandchildren.

Besides his loving wife Norma of 65 years, he is survived by his adoring children:  Marlene (Paul), Therese (John), James (Carol), and Timothy (Mary).  He was the beloved, cherished grandfather of three grandchildren who adored him, and he also leaves three great-grandchildren.  He was the brother of Dominic Longo of Spokane, Washington; William Longo of Taunton and Raymond Longo of Taunton, as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his daughter Ellen M. Longo and his brothers Daniel, Edward, and James Longo.

Private family funeral services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, with internment at the Pleasant St. Cemetery, Raynham, MA, with Military Honors.
