Gayle Elizabeth Lydon (O’Reilly), 65, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, on June 17, 1960, Gayle was the daughter of the late William F. O’Reilly and Gloria O’Reilly (Peachy).

She grew up in a home filled with love alongside her two brothers, Brian O’Reilly and the late Jeffrey O’Reilly. Gayle lived a life defined by warmth, humor, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She was the beloved wife of James “Big Jim” Lydon Jr., her husband and best friend for 44 wonderful years. Together, they built a family rooted in love, strength, and joy.

She was the proud mother of three children — the late James Lydon III, Scott Lydon, and Kacie Lydon — and a devoted grandmother to five cherished grandchildren: Riley, Liam, Lucas, Aria, and Noah. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them — from feeding the deer with little Noah to cheering on Liam, Lucas, and Aria in their athletic pursuits on the fields and courts.

Gayle had a deep love for cooking, traveling, and sharing life’s simple, beautiful moments. Some of her happiest times were spent on family vacations to York Beach, Maine, where laughter and memories filled the air year after year. At home, she found joy in the familiar — watching Judge Judy, caring for her loved ones, and keeping everyone well-fed and well-loved. Her kitchen was truly the heart of her home.

Her kindness, humor, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her. Gayle’s legacy of love, family, and togetherness will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
