George Borges, age 84 of Somerset, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Somerset Ridge Center.
He was the beloved husband of the late Annette Borges and the late Kathryn Borges.
George was born in Fall River, the son of the late Eugene and Georgina (Mello) Borges.
Before retirement, he worked for Tylo/Reynolds Metals as a Salesman/ Manager and then the Owner/ Salesman of Remodco.
George proudly served his country with the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed going to the casino especially Las Vegas, family gatherings and just spending time with his family and friends talking about old times .
George is survived by his children, Thomas, Donna & Beverly her partner Steve Rocha of Somerset, Joyce Ryan and her husband Rick of KY, Kenneth Borges & his wife Anne of Fall River & Lori Hubbard of Middleboro, Nephew and trusted advisor Dave Malone, wife Peggy , his step children, Charles Freeman IIII the late Rhonda Styles several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and second / third generation. He was also the brother of the late Angelo Borges, Mary Medeiros, Maura Quintal, Gilda Dankievitch, , Diana Malone.
George’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 9 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) in TAUNTON with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am in Saint Francis of Assisi Church Gardners Neck Rd, Swansea. Interment with military honors will follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 5 th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway in TAUNTON.
(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the north side of the funeral home.)
