Gerald E. Bernier

Gerald “Puppy” Bernier, age 81 of Raynham, passed away on February 19, 2025 at Morton Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of the late Caroline (Ribeiro) Bernier.

Born in Fall River, Gerald was the son of the late Albert and Helena (Polar) Bernier, Sr.

Before retiring, Mr. Bernier was employed as a foreman and supervisor with the Laborer’s International Union, Local 133, Quincy, MA.  He was also employed as a supervisor with Phillip Garcia Enterprises of Quincy.  An ardent worker from a very young age, he also held several additional jobs throughout the years with various employers.

He was an avid collector and enjoyed searching for treasures at yard sales, flea markets and storage auctions.  A master builder, he was constantly working on new building and renovation projects.  He enjoyed attending Portuguese festivals, going out to eat, taking long drives, and spending time in New Hampshire and Cape Cod.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always available to help them out at a moment’s notice.

Gerald is survived by his sons Brett Bernier of Berkley and Kyle Bernier of Raynham, grandfather of Brooke Bernier of North Kingstown, RI.  Mr. Bernier was also the brother of the late Henry Bernier.

Gerald’s funeral will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 8:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Ann Church North Main Street in Raynham.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 26th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
