Geraldina M. Tavares

Geraldina M. (Pereira) Tavares, 94, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, at Regal Care of Taunton, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Constantino J. Tavares, who preceded her in death in 2017.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Geraldina was the daughter of the late Joao Medeiros Pereira and Amelia Martins Felipe Pereira.

A dedicated worker, she spent many years with the former Acme Shoe Company before retiring in 1989.

A devout parishioner, she was a long-time member of the Annunciation of the Lord Church.

Geraldina found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly crocheting beautiful doilies and cherishing time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind her loving children: Larry J. Tavares and wife Manuela, Sally M. Desormier and husband Marc, and Donna M. Pereira and husband Daciel. She was a proud grandmother of 5 and great-grandmother of 7. Geraldina was preceded in death by her siblings: Manuel Pereira, Jose Pereira, Maria Amelia Martins, Gilda Botelho, and Natalia Castro.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Silva Funeral Home, located at 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary's Square) in Taunton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Annunciation of the Lord Church on First Street, Taunton. Interment at Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Additional parking with full handicap access is available on the north side of the funeral home.
