Geraldine (Payne) McSorley, age 78 of East Taunton, passed away on January 25, 2021 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late William McSorley.
Geraldine was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Thomas and Frances (Morrissey) Payne.
Before retiring, in her young life Mrs. McSorley worked as a Nursing Assistant at the Somerville Hospital, Sherrill House and Forest Hills Nursing Home.
She enjoyed playing the lottery, watching sports and gameshows.
Mrs. McSorley has 6 children; Stacey Stokes, Frances McSorley both of East Taunton, William McSorley of Boston, Thomas Dietzel of Westwood and John Goodridge of New Hampshire and the late Patrick McSorley of Taunton.
Mrs. McSorley was a loving grandmother of 4 grandchildren: Aaron Walsh, Tyla Walsh, Shannon Stokes and Patrick McSorley.
Mrs. McSorley was a great-grandmother of 2 children: David Julian Walsh and the late Samuel Tyler-Lee Pacheco as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of Robert Payne of Billerica, Paul Payne of Plymouth, Carol Payne and Sandra Boudreau both of Taunton, Linda Connolly of Littleton, Debra Connolly of Westford, Arlene O’Hea of Bridgewater and of the late David Payne, Thomas Payne, Raymond Payne and Les Payne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 10 am in Holy Family Church Middleboro Ave, East Taunton. Relatives and friends may meet directly at church at 9:45am. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Boston.
During all services facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
