TAUNTON - Gilbert A. Dias, a longtime Taunton resident, died at home with his family at his side on June 22, 2011.
He was 67.
Born and raised in Taunton, he was the son of Charlotte M. (Antone) Dias and the late John G. Dias.
Mr. Dias was a 1960 graduate of Taunton High School, later serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
For many years, he was employed as a gas fitter in the heating and ventilation industry.
He retired several years ago.
Mr. Dias enjoyed the outdoors, and time spent with his family and friends.
During his illness, he grew closer to his children.
Besides his mother, he leaves a daughter, Lolita Dias of Taunton; three sons, Jeff Correia of W. Bridgewater, Martin Dias and his wife Niko of Taunton, and Alan Correia of CA; a brother, Francis Dias and his wife Louise of Taunton; seven grandchildren, Latricia, Jennifer, Morgan, Miranda, Nina, Olivia, Phylicia; two nephews, Frank and Keith; and several aunts and uncles.
He trusted God for his salvation.
Calling Hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday June 30th from 4 to 7 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at the Baptist Church of All Nations, on Friday July 1st at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
