In Loving Memory of Gracie Dumont

April 20, 2018 – April 3, 2026

Gracie Dumont’s life began on the streets of Fall River. She went on to become a beloved indoor lap cat, safe at home and surrounded by love. Named for her beautiful grey fur, she filled the house with her sweet purr, her playful spirit, and all the things she had to say.

Gracie loved her green mouse and the Gracie song. Most of all, she loved her “mommy pillow.” It was her safe place, where she would happily make biscuits, suck on the pillow, and settle in as the sweetest girl.

Gracie passed away peacefully in her favorite box during the night of April 3, 2026. Her death was very unexpected. A necropsy at Angell Animal Medical Center revealed a heart condition they had never known she had. She was seven years old, just shy of her eighth birthday on April 20. She was cremated on the day she would have turned eight.

Gracie is survived by her mom, Laurie Dumont; her sister, Marissa Dumont; and her brother, Matthew Dumont. She is also survived by her cat sister Meepsie, who stayed beside her through her final night, and by Oliver, who had the biggest crush on her, even if she didn’t quite return his feelings. Gracie knew her boundaries and made sure Oliver respected them. Meepsie and Oliver miss her endlessly.

Gracie was so deeply loved. Her family will miss her little conversations, her gentle purr, and the joy of seeing her safe and happy on her pillow.
