Helene (Roche) Blair, age 80 of Nantucket, passed away on February 16, 2020 at Southeast Health Care in North Easton, MA.
She was the beloved wife of the late William Blair.
Helene was born in Nantucket, a daughter of the late Patrick and Ethel (Pike) Roche.
Before retirement, Mrs. Blair was a high school teacher in locations including Massachusetts, California, New York, and London. Helene was a resident of Nantucket for over fifty years and was closely involved with volunteer work within her community. She was a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston with a master’s degree in English. Helene enjoyed attending daily mass. She was a devout catholic and was a life-long communicant of Saint Mary, Our Lady of the Isle Church in Nantucket.
Helene had a passion for life, traveling, hiking and enjoying different cultures.
She is survived by loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 11am in Saint Mary, Our Lady of the Isle Church 3 Federal St, Nantucket. Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery, Nantucket
