Henry S. Milko, age 93, of Berkley, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Marion Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of Carolyn (Silver) Milko for 67 years. He was born in Berkley, Massachusetts and was a lifetime farmer, running Berkley Nursery and Tree farm, up until recently. He was the son of the late Samuel and Julia (Dombek) Milko. Henry was an Army Veteran, where he served during the Korean Conflict. He was proud of his military dedication, often marching in parades and remaining a member of the American Berkley Legion.
In addition to being an avid farmer, he also worked as a truck driver for Western Auto and as a long time employee of Bay State Gas Company. Henry was often the life of the party, and would talk anyone's ear off for hours! He was a jack-of-all-trades, even if all his projects were jimmy rigged. He had a sweet tooth like no other and loved Little Debbie sweets.
Besides his beloved wife Carolyn, he leaves behind his daughter, Sharon Nunes (Jeffrey Nunes), of Berkley. Four sons: Henry Milko, Peter Milko of Swansea, Paul Milko and James Milko. He will be missed by his four grandchildren: Sarah Macdougall (Derek Macdougall) of Berkley, Ryan Nunes (Jennifer Nunes) of Rehoboth, Abram Nunes (Meghan Nunes) of Vermont, and Kathryn Paiva (Joshua Paiva), of Berkley. His legacy of being the best "Pa" will be carried on by his 9 great grandchildren: Liam, Lila, Bryce, Harrison, Wesley, Nolan, Cameron, Blake and Zachary. He leaves behind one sister, Sally Baran of Berkley. He was the brother of late sisters: Stella Kula, Agnes Senechal, Mary Cutler and Josephine Lassen. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Milko's funeral with visitation will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary's Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Saint Bernard Church, Assonet. Interment with Military Honors will be held privately.
