TAUNTON - Hilda Carman (Morris) Amaral, wife of Joseph V. Amaral, died at home surrounded by her family on June 12, 2016. She was 82.
Born, raised and educated in North Dighton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary Morris.
Hilda was employed as a receptionist for the Taunton Gazette and later for the former Kodex Industry as a supervisor in Mansfield, retiring in 1986. Mrs. Amaral loved walking, bingo, dancing and the casinos. She was devoted to her family, especially her husband Joseph.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sisters, Florence Teixeira of Norton and Virginia Booth of CA; many nieces and nephews; and two great caregivers. She was also sister to the late Ralph and Manuel Morris, Mary Moitoza, Theresa Tatro, Dolores McDermott and Irene Hollis.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, June 17th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church in Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 16th from 4 to 7 p.m.
