Hilda M. (Quintana) Fontanez- Marquez, age 82 of Taunton, passed away on

Thursday September 22, 2022 at her home.

Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Carmen

(Quintana) Fontanez.

She grew up surrounded by her large family, she had 11 siblings and lots of aunts and uncles. She was married to the late Marcial Marquez, Sr. in Puerto Rico. Hilda was influenced by her family to be a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to others, and she incorporated that into her motherhood. As a mother she spent her time devoted to caring for her children and husband. Her grandchildren share an immense amount of love for her and she will be greatly missed by her family.

Hilda is survived by her beloved sons and daughter, George Marquez, Olga Doxy (Marquez) Martin Marquez, Sanson Marquez, & Felix Marquez. She was the mother of the late sons Marcial Marquez, Jr. & Fabian Marquez. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 4 daughter-in laws, and many nieces & nephews.

Hilda’s funeral with visitation will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 9:30am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square)Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am in Saint Mary Church, Taunton.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
