Ilda (Desa) Pais

Ilda (DeSa) Pais, age 70 of Taunton, passed away on August 18, 2020 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of Julio Pais.

Ilda was born in Povoa de Luzianes, Portugal, the daughter of the late Henrique and Maria Do Carmo (Marques) DeSa.

Before retiring, Mrs. Pais was employed with Rennie Curtain Factory for many years. Ilda loved her family very much and cherished time spent with them.  She especially adored each one of her grandchildren.  She was the best Vovo to them and they adored her as well.  She also enjoyed gardening and loved her beautiful flower garden.

Besides her beloved husband Julio of over 54 years, she is survived by her loving children; Sandy                                                                        Trethewey and her husband Brent Trethewey of Attleboro and Joaquim Pais of New Bedford. She was the loving grandmother “Vovo” of Justine Pais, Tifanie Pais, Devin Andre, and Austen Trethewey.  Ilda was also the sister of Rosa Marques, Maria Da Conceicao Sousa, Adelia DeJesus Marques, Antonio Sa, and Alcides DeSa. She was also the sister of the late Abilio DeSa and the late Aurelio DeSa.

Ilda’s funeral will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 7:45 am from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held in the Silva Funeral Home on Sunday, August 23rd from 2 to 5pm. (Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.)

During all services at both the Funeral Home and at Saint Anthony Church, facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
