Jacqueline F. (Rutherford) Helpern, RN, age 101 of Raynham, passed away on January 12, 2025 at Morton Hospital with her loving children by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Maurice M. Helpern, MD, former Medical Director at Morton Hospital from 1958 to 1989, who passed in 1995.
Dr. and Mrs. Helpern met in Boston while she was in nursing school and he was in medical school. She later became the Medical Librarian at Morton Hospital.
Born in Maine, Jacqueline was the daughter of the late Jerome and Jesse (Tenney) Rutherford.
She enjoyed reading, gardening and nature.
Jacqueline is survived by her loving children, Dr. Joseph A. Helpern and his wife Mary of Hawley PA, Holli Levy of Rockville MD and Amy Fischman of Cairo NY. Grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of twelve children, she was also the mother of the late Heidi Keene and sister of the late Jane and Jerome.
A private grave-side service was held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne MA.
Arrangements were with the Silva Funeral Home of Taunton.
