Jacquelyn (Bernardino) Rogers, age 88, of Taunton, passed away on January 11, 2021 at Good Samaritan Medical Center following a period of declining health.
She was the beloved wife of the late John Rogers.
Jacky was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Joaquim and Mary (Rico) Bernardino.
Jacky graduated from Taunton High School, in 1950, and served on the reunion committee for many years. She was employed at the Aleixo Insurance Agency for 52 years, retiring as Office Manager. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church where she attended Mass daily until her illness. She was a Faith Formation teacher, member of the Holy Rosary Sodality, member of the Finance Council and a recipient of the Marian Medal.
She was a member of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Women and a trustee at Paul Dever State School.
She enjoyed playing the piano and was the organist at the former St. Paul’s Church for several years.
She is survived by her daughter Jane Rogers Santos, granddaughter Jessica Grabau and her husband William, great- grandchildren; Juliana and Isabella Reis. She also leaves her devoted nephew, Douglas Ferreira, her precious cousins, beloved nieces and nephews, special friends, her lifelong friend, Evelyn Chapman, who she spoke to every day, and her caregiver, Janet Perry, who took wonderful care of her. She was the mother of the late James Rogers, to whom she devoted her life, and sister of the late Richalie Ferreira.
Jacky’s funeral will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 8:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 15th from 4 to 7 pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
(Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.)
During services facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
