Janice M. (Pedro) Benson, age 85 of Brewster and formerly of Taunton, passed away on October 21, 2021.
She was the former wife of the late William Benson.
Janice was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Arthur and Rose (Arruda) Pedro.
Janice was the owner of the family business, Domestic Fuel in Taunton. She also excelled in her professional career by managing industrial operations and later, by becoming a property manager.
Janice was an avid reader, particularly often enjoying crime novels. She grew beautiful gardens, and she always had some fresh cut flowers on the table from those gardens. She retired to the Cape where she spent the rest of her years relishing the time she spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving children, Sara Benson of Barnstable, Stephen Benson, his life partner, Rick Valentino of Provincetown, and by her loving granddaughter, Rachel Benson of Plainville.
In lieu of flowers, gifts made to any charitable organization to help those with Alzheimer’s in Janice’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
Private arrangements are with the Silva Funeral Home of Taunton. Her burial will be held in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
