Joan F. (Langley) Lema, age 86 of Taunton Ma, passed away on June 18, 2023 at home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Frank S. Lema who passed in November 2010. Born in Taunton, Joan was the daughter of the late Robert and Gladys (Macomber) Langley. Joan was a graduate of Taunton High School and was employed with Taunton State Hospital for 33 years as a Medical Assistant 1A. After retiring, she enjoyed watching auto-racing, going to outdoor events, camping, and spending time with family and friends. Joan also enjoyed crafting, sewing, knitting gifts for everyone’s special occasion. She was an animal lover and enjoyed bird watching. As well as watching Hallmark movies and DIY channels with her daughter Nancy.
Joan is survived by her loving children; Donna Waterman, Michael, Nancy, and the late Linda Jean Lema of Taunton Ma. Grandmother of 5; Lynda, Justin, Janelle, Baily and Jacquelyn. Great-grandmother of 4; Molly, Atley, Hunter and the late Serena Soule-Cansler. She was also the sister of William Langley of Florida and of the late Robert Langley of Arkansas. A grave-side service will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 10am in Saint Joseph Cemetery 475 East Britannia Street, Taunton MA 02780. Relatives and friends may assemble at the front gate of the cemetery at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts made to; Hospice care groups, cancer treatment organizations and Pennies from Heaven of Taunton Ma., in Joan’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
