Joana M. (Chibante) Madeira, age 60 of Taunton, passed away on January 29, 2022.
She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Madeira.
Joana was born in Vila Franco Do Campo. Sao Miguel, Azores, the daughter of the late Cristiano and Maria (Fontes) Chibante.
Before retiring, Mrs. Madeira was employed with Swanks
A devoted Catholic, Joana enjoyed spending time with grandkids and nephews; she loved to be at church and volunteer towards the community.
Joana is survived by her loving children; Christopher Madeira and Christine Madeira both of Taunton, grandmother of John and Alecia Soares, Christian and Alexis Chaves. She was the sister of Carlos, Jose, Roberto, Anibal, Alex, Emanuel, Rui, Maria Deus, Rosario Chibante, Cristina DeMello and Grace Lucas. She was also the sister of the late Manuel Chibante.
Mrs. Madeira’s funeral will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 9:30 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 3rd from 4 to 7pm at Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the Funeral Home.
