Joann Mary (Silvia) Pina, age 79, of Taunton, passed away on January 28, 2019 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of Raymond R. Pina.
Joann was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late John N. and Beatrice (Alves) Silvia.
Before retiring in 2009, Joann was employed with Trucchi’s Markets for over 21 years. She was a graduate of Taunton High class of 1957. Joann enjoyed going to the casino with Ray and also loved riding with Ray on their Goldwing motorcycle. She was a kind compassionate woman and loved spending time with her family.
Besides her beloved husband Raymond of 63 years, she is survived by her three sons; Russell Pina and his companion Diane Riva of Taunton, Donald Pina and wife Lorri of N. Dighton, and Elliott Pina and wife Claudia of Taunton, grandmother of 3, great-grandmother of 2 and sister of John Silvia of Taunton, Nancy Pina of Taunton, and Diane Silvia of Taunton. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Joann’s funeral will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 9am in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway(at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 30th from 5 to 7pm followed by a service at 7 pm in the Chapel of Silva Funeral Home. (Additional parking with handicap access is located on the north side of the funeral home.)
