Joanne (Tatro) LoPilato, age 69 of Taunton, passed away at her residence on December 10, 2025.
She was the beloved wife of the late Roy S. LoPilato who passed away in 2019, after 37 years of marriage.
Joanne is survived by her loving children, Keri LoPilato and Nicholas C. LoPilato; his partner, Amanda Waring; and their son, Benjamin Roy LoPilato-Waring, who made her a grandmother in 2025—her greatest joy. She is also survived by her brother Charles “Chuck” Tatro, Jr., and wife Gail of California.
Joanne was a lifelong educator, spending the last 30 years in the Taunton School System as a middle school teacher’s aide. She touched many lives throughout her career and was deeply touched by the students she worked with along the way. She loved what she did and never saw it as just a job—it was something she was truly passionate about. She was fortunate to spend nearly 20 years at the same school, Friedman Middle, where she developed a close-knit family of coworkers whom she loved and respected.
Outside of her fulfilling career, Joanne had a wide array of hobbies and interests, including gardening, traveling, shopping, and crafting.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 18th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
