Joanne Machado (Mattos), age 89 of Raynham, passed away suddenly on February 17, 2025.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Machado. They were married on April 22, 1957.
Joanne was born in Raynham, the daughter of the late John and Grace (Booth) Almeida-Mattos.
Joanne had many different hobbies and occupations throughout her lifetime but her main obligation was to her family; she always put her family first. She loved spending time with, and giving to the people she loved. Whenever anyone needed anything she had it; you never left empty handed when you stopped for a visit. She was always there to listen to everything you had to say and she absolutely loved to tell stories about her life and share all of the things she knew. She loved to sit on her porch any time of the year and watch the birds and the deer in her backyard, see the planes go by, and watch the sky. Joanne and her husband Joseph spent their years together saying cheers at 5 o’clock and she never let a night go by without thinking of him at that time.
Joanne is survived by her daughter Leslie and son-in-law Joseph Ritz, her daughter Lorna, and her daughter Lynn. She is the grandmother of Derrick, Kyle, Briana, Brian, Juliana, Jacquelyn, and Justin; and the great-grandmother of Cadence, Cobain, Aubrey and Rylan. She is also survived by her brother Donald Mattos, brother-in-laws Dennis Machado, Leon Machado and several other nieces and nephews.
She was the sister-in-law of the late Marion Mattos.
Mrs. Machado’s funeral will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 9:00am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Saint Ann Church in Raynham.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held in the Silva Funeral Home on Sunday, February 23rd from 2 to 4pm.
